Jeremy, thanks for the encouragement. I have to admit to some uncertainty in delivering messages that convey difficult truths. I do strongly believe that we need to hear the challenging truths as well as the encouraging ones. This one was easy to generate passion for as I struggle with the same issues as everyone else. I like the quote from Corrie ten Boom. I admit to having grubby fingers as well. Karen and I are talking together about some practical ways we can hold things more loosely.

Tim, thanks for doing a message on this topic. I can think of a thousand other messages that would have been easier to swallow, but they probably wouldn't come close to challenging me in the areas of growth I need to look at in my walk with Christ. The message also reminded me of a great quote from Corrie ten Boom - "I've learned that we must hold everything loosely, because when I grip it tightly, it hurts when the Father pries my fingers loose and takes it from me!" I pray that God can help me loosen my grip before it comes to the point where God steps in and has to pry my grubby little fingers apart.
