One of our Governing Board members sent me this link today. In it, the article refers to the need to move our thinking about missions from something we do in sending teams and money to places around the world (where it IS needed) to also include thinking "missoinally" about our local communities.

With Missions Emphasis Week just around the corner, I've been plowing along trying to get everthing ready. There is a lot to do, and this is reflective of the substantial chunk of missions work we do here.

Having turned 37 last month, and doing a little math on (1) what my age will be when my kids graduate from High School (47 for the oldest and 55 for the youngest) and (2) the fact that when my parents were my age I was 15, I began to sense a bit of dispair coming.
